Setting Sail- wedding invitations

Posted on 08 April 2010 by admin

One does not discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore, a wise man once said. A new venture is always anxious/exciting. I’ve been doing ketubahs for so long it’s fun and daunting to step into a new realm.

Wedding invitations are a big bite to chew, so I’ve been nibbling carefully at the edges. I’ve been thinking about it for a while- it makes so much sense- but life got in the way (hello baby Mena!). Last fall I got a call from a lovely young woman who was very enthusiastic about my designs and asked me about invitations. Fortunately her wedding was far enough away that we could work together. I ended up doing lots of design for her wedding and thank you cards. It was a real challenge- in a good way. I like when a client has ideas and we work together to make something new happen. I don’t often do custom from scratch work, but I am very open to requests that are based on existing artwork.
Now we are launching a line of four- so far!- invitation sets that coordinate with ketubah designs. Of course if I haven’t gotten around to the design you’ve fallen in love with, email me and we’ll work it out!
Anyway- here are some shots of that invitation and accompanying bits and pieces.
